    About Buffalo Flats

Buffalo Flats is a very unique area on the edge of an equally unusual region known as "The Nebraska Sandhills".

As one might guess from the name, the region is level enough to be adapted to gravity irrigation.

There is much folklore as to just what impact thousands of years worth of migration by millions of American Bison had on the formation of the area. One thing is for sure, if you contact the right person "Buffalo Wallows" can still be found in hard ground pasture areas hundreds of years after the passing of the last great herds.

From the Jones property one can stand on a farm tractor or stand in the stirrups, look South and see full-blown ranch country. Almost within walking distance one can find retirement homes in mature pine forests. There are trout streams, lake fishing, big game and upland hunting opportunities.
